when a person goes back home, a statue of them appears in the resort. when that person returns here, the statue disappears, even if they're not the same person.
this place can pull people from different points on their timeline. if it sent you back home, then kidnapped another version of you from earlier in your life, you wouldn't remember shit from this place. it'd be another person.
